i see, man. what i meant was, for advertisers there is a hard way to control the aftereffect of advertising, and managing the payment of campaign. you know, under the google advertising system, you don’t need to pay for google if no body hits your ads, you pay only when your site been visited through google adwords. that’s the huge different with traditional billing.

if there has some kind of mp3 advertising system, which could detecting a special ID3 tag, or a marker or special region in your sound files. for example: if i insert an ads sample in the ending of my track, and mark the part named “XXX Bank”. meanwhile when a person listened the ads part, your system will be recorded once played for the ad. well..maybe works.

oh, no, I’m not talking about that, that’s already in use. I’m talkin about adding a new “tag” with random ads something like Ad Sense for files.

ex. on your iPod screen:

song XXXXXXXXXXXX
album XXXXXXXXXXXXX
year XXXX
Sponsor (random AD)

the only problem I see is when u play the song offline, but I think it’s not a real problem, if somebody prints my RSS I obviously can’t display my ads, but if they load them online, it just happens

could be a stupid idea, but I think could be good to have that option, a huge amount of mp3 songs are played every day via streaming, if I’m able to insert my ad code on the main file of my server, each time that mp3 be played I can display my ad there

that’s the idea (stupid or not)

well, i think the advertisers rather put ads in podcasts or popular net-radio.
